Author Interview - Claire Marta

Claire Marta is a legendary name in the romance genre; with a variety of books there is something for everyone. Claire is also a very supportive friend who always helps others. Let's get to know her a little more.

1. What kind of romance do you write?

I write pretty much everything from PNR to Alien romance. I have books in many different genres and go wherever my stories take me. I am just along for the ride my characters take me on. I don’t write behind closed doors steam and all my books have sex scenes ranging from steamy to hot!

2. Which is the best book that you’ve written (in your opinion) and what’s it about?

That’s a hard one because they are all so different. Currently, it’s The Obsidian Songbird which is part of my Ceasefire series. It’s about Cassandra, the adopted daughter of Lucifer and who is the last descendant of the oracle in Delphi. Everybody wants her gift of foresight, but she can’t control it. There are many different creatures in the series, from vampires and werewolves to fallen gods. I adore the world-building, and most of the series can be read as standalone’s.

3. What was the best advice you received from another author?

Keep writing and don’t stop. Even on bad days when you think what you are writing isn’t worth the space on your open document. The draft comes first before you start to refine the story. Don’t give up.

4. Tell us about your background. Where you grew up and what life was like.

I grew up in England and loved to read. When I was a teenager, I would spend the coach journey daydreaming. I think that’s where my passion for story writing started. It wasn’t until after the birth of my daughter I actually thought about publishing. I had plenty of time on my hands between feeding a newborn baby. I have never regretted pushing publish on my first book.

5. Who is your favorite author in the romance genre?

Kym Grosso is one of my favorites. She’s one of the authors who inspired me to write. The worlds she built in her books are amazing and I wanted to bring my open to life.
